There are many alternative treatments for asthma. Asthma is known as the “most common chronic disease of childhood.” Normally, people will use herbal remedies to try and dilate the air passageway to help you breathe if you’re having problems with asthma.

Some people may say to eat cold water fish with high content fish oils, since oily fish like salmon and tuna may reduce the risk of your own asthma symptoms, and is a very useful for an asthma natural treatment.

Most physicians will claim that eating a lot of fruits and vegetables or omega-3 fatty acids will prevent from having bronchitis, wheezing, and asthma.

Asthma natural treatments can include eating fresh fruits and/or vegetables in your daily meals. Adulthood asthma may be prevented through eating these vegetables and fruits with a wide variety of produce, as some may say.

Recent studies have declared that antioxidants and certain nutrients in plant foods help prevent or ameliorate asthma, which can be another asthma natural treatment to prevent you from having asthma while you enter adulthood, or are already in adulthood.

Stay away from hydrogenated and trans fats. You can find these in pastries, cookies, cakes, and any other pastry dish. Although you may find it delicious, it may increase your chances of getting asthma during your stages of life.

Warm liquids will help lessen severity. Also, some people find fish oil supplements may reduce the severity of asthma. This includes exercise-induced asthma. Supplements may vary, and there is still research being processed to find if food is related to asthma.

Supplements can include Flavonoids, such as Genistein and Quercetin; Boswellia is an Ayurvedic herb; Vitamin C, magnesium, and gingko; Sylimarin, found in milk thistle; Alpha Lipoic Acid, found to be useful in one mouse study; Butterbur; and Yoga may help prevent or decrease asthma, and are considered natural asthma treatments.

By: Ricky Lim

About the Author:

Children’s asthma can’t be cured but, you can manage the symptoms of asthma with medications. You and your child will usually work with doctors to have a plan to manage their asthma.

It’s a daily asthma plan to help figure out treatments and what needs to be done, to help your child asthma treatment.

Babies and small children need early treatment for asthma symptoms to prevent severe breathing problems, and often have more serious problems due to their smaller bronchial tubes.

Even if it seems like your child’s asthma is not severe, make sure you work with their doctors to form the right plan for them. Below I have listed a few things to help assist you with your child asthma treatment:

Prevention

Preventing things that cause your child to have problems with their asthma is a huge difference, and a part of child asthma treatment. If they can stay away from contact to all their allergies things like house dust, molds, pets, etc, they might still have asthma but, the severity would be narrowed.

Asthma triggers, like viral respiratory infection and running, could still irritate asthma symptoms. Whenever they can your child should stay away from things that trigger asthma like cigarette smoke and other inhaled irritants.

Asthma Medicines

There are good medications that control your child’s asthma. But the cost, amount of medication and how long their going to be on them depends on the condition of your child asthma.

Some children only have asthma problems a few times a years around the time when it gets cold, and others have problems all year long but have them worse in the spring and fall when there is enlarged exposure to outdoor allergens.

Some kids with asthma wheeze from simple things like exercise, and others wheeze all the time for no reason at all. There are different ways to be tried before proper medication program for your child is given.

Luckily its many superb medications with a small number of side effects, asthma can usually be controlled with safe effective medications, to help with child asthma treatment.

By: Kris Walker

About the Author:

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory condition that results in wheeziness and breathing difficulties. The air tubes in the lungs become extremely sensitive, and irritants, such as pollen, house dust, mites, animal fur, cold air, exercise, and emotional upset, can all trigger an attack. When this happens, muscle spasms in the walls of the airways cause them to narrow; the secretion of mucus adds to the problem, and the flow of air is considerably hampered.

It is important to breathe correctly so that the diaphragm rises and falls and the lungs fill and empty properly.

Symptoms may include wheezing, coughing, breathlessness, and tight chest. A bad attack can cause sweating, rapid heartbeat, and extreme gasping for breath.

Treatment

The condition and its trigger factors are still not fully understood. All asthma sufferers are deficient in magnesium. Naturopaths believe that magnesium, given intravenously, is the most effective remedy to stop an attack.

Diet and Nutrition Stick to naturally- and organically-grown foods. Avoid additives, which can trigger allergic reactions, and cut down on dairy products. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables: garlic and onions are said to deter mucus production.

Herbal Medicine Infusions of elecampane, euphorbia with thyme, grindelia or senega, ephedra (alone or with grindelia), and skunk cabbage help relax muscular spasms, loosen phlegm, and relieve tension. lnhalations of camomile or eucalyptus have a similar effect. A tincture of fiery cayenne desensitizes airways.

Consult a qualified practitioner/therapist for:

Homeopathy A homeopath will prescribe according to the individual case but might recommend the following:

For difficulties in breathing, where the sufferer has to bend forward to breathe, feels restless and exhausted, and worse between midnight and 2 a.m Arsenicum alb for both adults and children.

For a sudden attack after exposure to cold or dry wind – Aconite

For coughing, gasping for air, vomiting mucus, worse at night and when humid – Carbo veg.

If sufferer is pale, lethargic, worse at night, particularly in warm climate – Kali carb.

For wakefulness in early hours in damp atmosphm where sufferer holds chest while coughing, shows symptoms of fluid retention, and has morning diarrhea. Natrum sulf.

Where a child coughs green phlegm and craves fresh air – Pulsatilla

For acute breathlesssness, excess mucus production, and vomiting – Ipecacuanha

For a choking cough accompanied by asthma that is better in damp but worse in dry, cold conditiom. Hepar sulf.

For noisy wheezing, coughing and gasping – Antimonium tart.

For asthma that follows on from childhood eczema. Psorinum

For asthma following a cold – Silica.

Reflexology, Massage, Hydrotherapy, Aromatherapy, Acupuncture, Bach Remedies, Osteopathy, Alexander Technique, and Chiropractic. All of these can be helpful. Consult a qualified practitioner who will be able to assess your particular case properly.

By: Robin Brain

About the Author:
