She has a vet appointment in two days. Not to freak you out, but a more serious possibility is a collapsed trachea (particularly common with small breeds, which mine is). Another possibility is kennel cough -- even a vaccinated dog can catch it if it's been in close contact with other dogs that have it. Kennel cough is fairly easy to treat, particularly for an older dog. For asthma, I'm not sure -- I have an asthmatic cat who has to take medication regularly, so I assume there is something similar for dogs.
