-Yes, if you have to use a lot of bronchodilator and anti inflammation , even prednisolone, that means your asthma is really severe.
-if you cough, or wheezing, or breathlessness nearly a dog, that shows you have allergy to dog
-In this case, you advise your husband go to your doctor to get more information: or seeking in web site GINASTHMA or MEDLINE
I sure that an asthmatic patient should not keep a dog in her house, or she must go to the hospital in emergency

Before insisting the dog leave, you should make absolutely positive that it’s the dog you are allergic to. If you haven’t already, see an allergist for allergy testing. Maybe there’s something else in your fiancee’s place that is bothering you (e.g., dust mites).
My asthma/allergies are similarly severe (seven daily prescriptions) and I thought I was allergic to everything. After testing, I learned that my only allergies were to cats and dust mites. However, the dust mite allergy was so severe that it made me sensitive to everything else. Once I took measures to control my mite exposure, my environment became a lot less dangerous. I can now pet the neighbor’s dog without having an asthma attack. Hopefully the same will be true for you! Good luck!
P.S. Congratulations on your wedding!

The thing that is causing your problem is a protein found in the saliva and urine of the dog. When the dog licks, it spreads all over the animal. It sticks to the skin and fur and this is what you inhale that makes you sick. This shed protein, skin, and fur adhere to anything in the house with fibers. That is upholstered furniture, carpets, rugs, drapes, clothing, beds and bedding, etc.
Since the allergen is a protein, you could try a denaturing agent to break the amino acids. This would require treating all the fiber surfaces listed above with something like the ADS or ADMS sprays made by Allersearch Laboratories. Clothes would have to be washed with their special detergent. In addition, you would have to treat the dog itself with something that controls the protein on the dog. There is a product called Allerpet/D that you rub directly on the dog. Also, all the beds would need to be covered with special allergy proof mattress covers and you would need to get a special machine for the pet allergen in the air. It would be lots of work. Maybe it would be easier to just say good-bye to the doggie.

In my Opinion…
Don’t blame the Dog ..
Typically Asthma Patients have Allergic Asthma i.e. their Asthma is greatly / negatively influenced by their Allergies / Allergic Triggers…
If you have Allergic Asthma .. I suggest that you Neutralize your Allergies with ImmunoTherapy…. it is essentially Drug Free…which will get rid of your Dog and other allergies ( usually you have Mite,, dust and other allergies…) AND Greatly improve your Asthma …
If you have Allergic Asthma and are not Neutralizing your Allergies with ImmunoTherapy..
It is like trying to put a Gasoline Fire Out.. but the Hose is Still Pumping
A IgE Blood Test for the most common Seasonal & Year-round Allergens specific to your Geo-Region… followed by ImmunoTherapy in tradtional Injection ( like Insulin Shots ) …
Or…
Under-the-Tongue DROPs…
Rememebr .. Allergy Med’s only address Symptoms ..
they Do Not Neutralize your Allergy Disease Source like immunoTherapy.
Save the Dog and Save your Relationship.. and Save your Health
Good Luck
